Ceragon Networks Ltd. [NASDAQ: CRNT] disclosed that TIM Brazil has chosen the firm to take part in TIP OpenRAN Trials. After the selection, CRNT will collaborate in a mutual effort with Telecom Infra-Project (TIP) and the National Telecommunication Institute (INATEL) to test suppliers for 5G OpenRAN.
It has been disclosed that the outcomes of this trial will further reinforce the relationship of Ceragon with TIM Brazil. Ceragon has been chosen by TIM because of the shared vision of the firm. Furthermore, TIM is hoping that this initiative will give a boost to the software industry and also the other firms.
OpenRAN Trial’s Benefits for Ceragon
The selection of Ceragon demonstrates the great acknowledgment of Open Network hauling solutions and technology of Ceragon. Moreover, it will also commemorate an important step forward towards the participation of CRNT in the future network’s implementation of Brazil.
Additionally, it has been disclosed for the test the TIM Brazil will utilize the new generation, all-outdoor, ultra-high-capacity IP-50E millimeter wave solution of CRNT. About OpenRAN Trial
The open-field test will carry out on the INATEL campus, in Santa Rita do Sapucaí (MG). It will include software and hardware suppliers, the operator, university representatives, and representatives of the TIP working groups. Additionally, the test will be headed by TIP. TIP has been fostering accessible solutions for telecom networks.
Furthermore, the purpose of the test is to verify different patterns of OpenRAN elements from different vendors. The trial also aims to review their effectiveness under conditions similar to that of a commercial network.
